My interest in both designing and building websites for the World Wide Web began six years ago when a former secondary school teacher introduced me to this constantly evolving subject, whilst I was working towards a General National Vocational Qualification – GNVQ – in Information and Communication Technology.

I can still remember the occasion, when my teacher gathered our class together in front of the state-of-the-art (at the time!!!) SMART interactive whiteboard, which presented a string of complicated code projected onto the screen. My teacher edited a line of this Hyper Text Markup Language – HTML – and made a picture scroll across the screen before my eyes and I was instantly hooked.

Since that day I have tried to gather as much knowledge and skills relating to the web and Interactive Media industry as I possibly can and my skills at the current time include the following...

Software

Adobe Photoshop, Flash, Dreamweaver, Illustrator, Director.

Microsoft (All Software)

Programming

(X)HTML, CSS, PHP, MYSQL, LINGO.

Operating Systems

Microsoft (ALL), Linux.

Education

UNIVERSITY OF WOLVERHAMPTON (2006-2010)
University of Wolverhampton, Wulfruna Street, Wolverhampton, WV1 1SB.

- BA(Hons) Interactive Media

After spending a year working towards a BSc (Hons) Web Computing degree, where I learnt programming, operating systems, networks, computer architecture, web development, databases, and computational methods, despite coping with the course and passing all of my modules, I felt that my skills would be better suited to a more 'design' based web development approach.

After careful deliberation I changed degrees to my current course where I am now specialising in interface and interaction design, image composition, web design and development, digital sound, streaming media, as well as critical and creative thinking. This degree is in progress.

NEW COLLEGE TELFORD (2002-2004)
New College Telford, King Street, Wellington, Telford, Shropshire, TF1 1NY.

- AVCE Advanced Information Technology
- A-Level Media Studies
- A-Level Modern History

My Media Studies course improved my designing skills, which are important in pre web design and I achieved this during the production of a short film I made in a practical module in the college Apple Mac suite, gaining 98/100 (A*).

Modern History aided my analytical and evaluative skills, which are vital in post web design and The Advanced Vocational Certificate of Education – AVCE – in Information and Communication Technology I studied offered me the opportunity to be once again reunited with a web design module, which cemented my decision to continue with the subject at University, I achieved 99/100 (A*) at this module.

WROCKWARDINE WOOD SECONDARY SCHOOL (2002-2004)
Wrockwardine Wood Arts College, New Road, Wrockwardine Wood, Telford, Shropshire, TF2 6JZ.

- 7 GCSE Subjects (10 Grades)
